Immigration Legal Services

Immigration Legal Services

Humanitarian immigration help that meets people where they are

For many immigrants, one legal form is the difference between safety and deportation, between exploitation and freedom. We help people understand their options and take the next step — in English, Portuguese, and Spanish.

  • Humanitarian visas: T visas for trafficking survivors, U visas for crime victims, VAWA self-petitions, and asylum cases.
  • Legal consultations: one-on-one guidance on where you stand and what comes next.
  • Know-your-rights workshops: practical education for communities and partner organizations.
  • Detention and family support: help for detained individuals and the families fighting for them.

Please note: We are not a law firm. We work alongside qualified immigration attorneys, and every case is handled with confidentiality and care.

OTW — On The Way

Protection, healing, and independence for migrant women and girls

OTW is USIC’s flagship program — built from our frontline experience with trafficking survivors, domestic-violence survivors, and the women the system overlooks.

  • Trauma-informed intake and case support — safety planning first, paperwork second.
  • Anti-trafficking education — so women can recognize exploitation and know their rights.
  • Referrals that actually work — shelter, counseling, medical care, and legal help through vetted partners.
  • Leadership and economic empowerment — because protection isn’t complete without independence.
Global Voice

Global Voice

A seat at the table

Immigration policy is shaped in international rooms — and the people most affected are never in them. USIC is working to change that: building a civil-society bridge between immigrant communities in the United States and international policy spaces, including the BRICS civil-society dialogue.

We are an independent nonprofit. We don’t speak for any government — we speak for the people governments forget.
